Why don’t comp people contribute to CompFAQs? Open discussion. (We could most likely predict most of them. But as we explore the reasons, we might also explore ways to overcome / challenge the roadblocks / structures that prevent us from doing this kind of work.)
- One conversation I’ve had with some folks at conferences has been that this kind of work doesn’t count in the P&T process. So what could we do to help that, as a profession. I also had a conversation at WAC about how to promote more RAD work, and we could explore how CompFAQs might help with that effort as part of the whole contribution process.
- Lack of time—a pseudo-reason
- It’s work for our servants (grad students)--is this a retreat from responsibility? (here is where Wikipedia makes a point)
How can we promote participation? Why are colleagues not participating?
