Working Portfolio Checklist

Working Portfolio Checklist

Your working Portfolio will be submitted every (insert day you will collect) for response from me. Each time it is submitted, an Author’s Memo must be attached in order to get credit. The author’s memo should:

  • Briefly describe what (new) pieces are in your working portfolio and what you like/don’t like about each one;
  • Point me to the one piece you would like my feedback on that week. In doing so, you will need to explain to me what you discussed in your writers’ workshop; what you’re working on in the piece; what question you have about it; what audiences you have in mind for it; and what kind of response you would like me to give you.

Please staple this sheet to the inside of you working portfolio. On it, write the working title of each piece that’ in your portfolio, the genre, and the date you first wrote it. Keep all pertinent draft, notes, responses from writer’s workshops, and responses from me attached to each one. In other words, keep it all and keep it together.
