- Currently in process of proposal as regular course; proposed title and description: The Theory and Teaching of Basic Writing: A study of the theory and practice of teaching basic writing. Surveys the history and politics of basic writing and remediation while focusing on specific instructional strategies, writing assignments, and assessment. Prepares students to teach basic writing at the college level, in learning centers, and in other adult learning settings. (This proposal is being developed largely by Tom Peele, my colleague at Boise State.)
